The
Scottish Woodland Skills
Centre is situated only 3 miles
from the historic town of
Alyth.Our idyllic, rural
setting is at Bamff, situated
on the edge of Perthshire and
Angus.Perthshire is known as
Big Tree Country and it is the
trees that provide the resources
and environment
for all our activities.
At
our purpose built training
venue; a large hard-standing
area, a grass activity space
surrounded by woodland, and an
off-grid wooden bothy, powered
by a wind turbine, heated by a
wood stove and built by
volunteers from recycled
materials, we run
courses and events throughout
the year.
Whilst
basic in certain
amenities,
the venue is very
much in keeping with our
woodland situation and it
is perfect for
participating in
traditional crafts and
outdoor activities.
Our
courses range from wood
carving to knife
making, chainsaw use to
teenage adventure days and
more information can be found
under
“Courses
& Events”.
We have a programme of
regular courses, mostly
running at weekends, and
also offer familiy activity
sessions during school
holidays. Bespoke activities
for groups can be arranged.
Clive
Bowman and Dick Craig operate
this not for profit Social
Enterprise and look forward to
welcoming
individuals, groups and
families to the very heart of
rural Perthshire.
